Back in Benton
We closed out our 2024 camp season at Jackson Grove Baptist Church in Benton, IL the first weekend of November. This camp has an awesome twist in that a group of Godly men led by Pastor Ron Wilson get together to bowhunt for whitetail deer during the week and then serve alongside us as Guides for the camp on the weekend. These men come from places like Florida, Georgia, Michigan and more for a week of hunting, fellowship, bible study and serving together, how cool is that!
We had an awesome camp with the families on Saturday and what really stood out this time was when Pastor Kevin was giving the Gospel message it turned into this really cool opportunity for the kids to share their own knowledge of the Bible. We were blown away by not just what they knew about Jesus, but also how bold they were in sharing it! We had a really blessed time together and capped it off the next day with an awesome Camo Sunday church service as well. Thankful.
Community Events
We were blessed to be asked to help with Olivet Lutheran Church of La Crosse’s annual Blessing of the Hunt again this year! Fun night for families with a chili cook off, archery, games, and prizes. Krysta shared her testimony and Pastor Kevin shared a Gospel message as we all blessed the upcoming gun hunt in Wisconsin with prayer and a time of worship.
We had a blast decorating our tree and participating in the Rotary Lights Parade last month. If you are down at the lights make sure to look for the Kicking Bear tree decorated by our friends Nicole and Caden!
We have had so many kiddos and their mentors out chasing deer after the youth hunt this year! It is so cool to see the dedication and celebrate the wonderful animals these young hunters are harvesting under the guidance of some really amazing men and women. Thankful.
