Registration is on a first come basis so it is important to submit your pre-registration information as soon as possible. The 2011 Iowa Kicking Bear event is two fun-filled days! Friday evening is comprised of supper, a safety meeting, hayrides, games, tug-o-war, camping, fireside stories and maybe a marshmallow roast or two! Saturday will include breakfast, lunch, safety orientation, canoe races and archery shooting. After a mandatory safety meeting, there will be 3D target shooting and much more. All adults are encouraged to bring children from outside their home, as well as their own children. Each child participating will receive a free t-shirt. Prizes will be given away at the end of the event. All equipment is supplied by the Kicking Bear sponsors. Where?The 2011 Iowa Kicking Bear event will be located at the Burlington YMCA Camp “Camp McBride” located 2 miles north of Burlington off of Hwy 99 at the end of Y-Camp Rd.. The phone number for the lodge is 753-5386 (only answered during the event). When? The 2011 Iowa Kicking Bear event will be Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6, 2011. Friday check-in/registration will be from 3:30 - 5 pm. Saturday check-out is approximately 3:30 pm. What to bring? Each participant in the 2011 Iowa Kicking Bear event should bring appropriate outdoor wear, a tent (if you don’t have one, we will have some on hand), a sleeping bag, a pillow and the necessary toiletry articles for an overnight camp-out. EVERYTHING else is provided FREE!!!.
